Program Design and Database Administrator Job Overview:
Centro, Inc is seeking Program Design and Database Administrator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will provide technical support to the operation and maintenance of corporate data processing systems and functions; assist associates in the operation of the various components of the data processing system; assist the Manager of Information systems in designing and implementing a variety of software and hardware solutions to support Centro's core functions.
The role requires a strong understanding of programming languages, systems analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Database Management:
Ensure compatibility and responsiveness of web applications.
Develop server-side logic and databases for web applications.
Create and maintain user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Responsible for database management, data access control and integrity (user interfaces), and understanding of Centro data structure.
Supports Information Systems in design, maintenance, and recommendations of data processing systems and software.
Design, implement and manage relational databases (e.
g.
, MSSQL) for storing and retrieving data efficiently.
Create and maintain data processing system and program documentation.
Ensure data integrity and security through proper database management practices.
Systems Analysis:
Implement and maintain servers and databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
Conduct thorough analysis of existing legacy systems and applications.
Capability to identify opportunities for improvement and modernization.
Propose and implement enhancements to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Optimize database performance, including indexing, query optimization, and caching strategies.
Respond to data processing system operation emergencies; help coordinate system and program repairs.
Collaboration:
Teaches and assists other Associates in the use of data processing software equipment so that available technology is used effectively and efficiently.
Fosters cooperation, communications, and a team environment with other Associates.
Qualifications:
An associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of software maintenance, enhancement and development experience is required.
Experience with business and manufacturing software is desirable.
Knowledge and familiarity of network connected client/server systems, Relational Databases, Windows Operating Systems, Unidata (or other file-based data stores), MSSQL and Microsoft Office tools strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Windows is preferred.
Understanding of web related technology and applications; HTML, JavaScript.
Ability to read and convert from older ASP and VB based scripts is helpful.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work with minimum supervision are required.
Work Environment and Schedule:
Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, with a temperature range of 55 - 100 degrees F.
Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
Required to commit sufficient time, as necessary, to accomplish job responsibilities, including periodic evening and weekend commitments and emergency responses to any type of DP system failures or conditions that affect normal business and manufacturing operations.
