) to diagnoses, procedures, and services - Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for billing purposes - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims - Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation and coding practices - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines - Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical coding and billing Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding preferred - Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures - Familiarity with medical collections processes and insurance claim submission requirements - Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment Note:
